Oxana waited until she was sure they were gone, then she began to cry. All she had worked for, all her hopes and dreams of being beside Luminé, were about to become a distant memory. What was going to happen to her? How could she stay in Luminé’s realm, knowing he didn’t love her anymore? She cried some more, trying to let it out. Then she grew quiet and sat up. Luminé does love me. Luminé does need me. He is not going to have Splendora. If he did, he would have taken her long ago. She stood up confidently, facing the sea, and said aloud, “This is my destiny, and I need to go take it back.”

She turned and walked into her home, put on a sexy outfit, and took off for Legion’s hidden lair on Earth. She would gain Legion’s help this day, just like she had long ago.

An hour later, she walked down the now familiar forest path. When she felt she was far enough in, she called for Legion. He appeared within moments on the path, surprising her, as if he had been expecting her. “Oxana.”

She watched his eyes look her up and down, undressing her in his mind. “I have come with important news, my Lord.”

“Come with me. I have a fire built.”

She followed him to the clearing that held a lavish-looking hut with curtains and rugs at the entrance. Outside was a small fire pit surrounded by sitting logs and a table that held pitchers of water. Legion motioned for her to sit in front of the fire as he sat across from her. He did not have his black robe on this evening, only his brown tunic and brown sandals adorning his tan, muscular legs.

He waited until she sat and asked, “What news?”

She sat tall and replied confidently, “The Humans have been given special powers. They have been granted the ability to have children, little Humans, and the Human Race is set to grow.”

Legion did not react, his face showing no emotion, as he began thinking, trying to understand. He said aloud, “Of course; that is why there were only two of them.”

“There is more, my Lord,” said Oxana. “Luminé has cast me out. He is moving toward Splendora. I fear you will lose him as someone you wanted to influence, as well.”

“Cast you out?” Legion said, his eyes narrowed, and his voice angry.

“Yes, he told me to leave.”

Legion looked at her for a long moment, measuring if she had suddenly lost the ability to help him. If she had, he would need to be rid of her for good. He had one question, though. He asked, “How does he feel about the news of the Humans?”

“He is angry, I am sure, though we have not been able to discuss it.”

Legion stood up and stepped into his hut for a moment, then returned, leaving the door open. Inside, Oxana could see his bed covered with a maroon quilt. It distracted her momentarily.
